ZA... are you prepared?

So... it was broght to my attention from Mike (Kyron) that we should try ZA... and I thought, why not. We've done Karazhan quite a bit, and we can get through most of the bosses. Time to mix it up and try something new (not that we're gonna stop trying Kara). I've only ran it once and it seems like a short instance... just some pretty insane bosses. So we can possibly just run it in 1 night instead of breaking it down into two.

Second half Karazhan - 2/10/2008

I've posted the logs from this Saturday's Kara run, and this time the two files (Phong and I) were able to be merged.

That site contains both runs from this week, and will continue to expand as we add more logs in the future. WowWebStats is a neat site - it sets all this stuff up automagically.

Excellent run, especially with the Prince clear. This one page was a bit of a concern, though: http://wowwebstats.com/ktqpdi4bxvdrw?a=34#break. Nobody was hitting the demon chains? Good thing we were still able to clear him!

First half Karazhan - 2/5/2008

I've uploaded our stats from the first half of Karazhan. Phong and I both ran our combat logs the whole time, but unfortunately the two logs could not be merged. Apparently one of us was lagging for portions of the instance, and this caused enough corresponding lines to have mis-matched times that the parsing client got befuddled.

It's not a big deal, but the stats are more accurate when more files are merged because the range on the combat log is not infinite. If people really appreciate these stats, in the future we should consider having more people record their logs: at least one melee, healer, and ranged DPS.

Due to some technical difficulties we don't have the WWS report for last night Kara yet but stay tune and check this blog again to see the report.

Kara Keyed

We have quite a few people as well as characters who just reached the glorious level 70 and is anxious to get in on the Kara fun. Please indicate where you are in the keying process (don't worry if you haven't started) and available evenings where we can possibly knock it out. Also, if you aren't honored w/ the different factions, I recommend getting there and the keys so we can start running heroics with you and get you some PURPLEZ =)

Kara 2008, 2nd attempt

OK... I'd have to applogize that the last run didn't go so well... for many of you it required some "bargaining" or scheduling to make yourself available that night. Unfortunately, Blizzard's ISP connectivity failing came at a bad time. So, there is much consensus that we do it again sooner than later. With that in mind, I am putting the 1st week of Feb (Feb 5 & 9) to be more precise as an option for the next Karazhan run. Please post and if this is something you guys are interested in.

Guild Ranking (version 2)

Ok, as you may have (or have not) noticed... there are new names for the different guild rankings. These changes are done primarily to accommodate the tank and plate wearers as we do various dungeon runs/raids. Listed below are the rankings & a brief explanation of each one. If you haven't caught on yet... the naming scheme comes right out of Starcraft.

High Templar
- The highest rank, guild leader
- unlimited guild management rights
- unlimited bank rights

Dark Archon
- Senior officer tank
- can promote, demote, invite, remove, and motd.
- good amount of bank withdraw rights and for repairs.

Dark Templar
- Senior officer guild member
- can promote, demote, invite, remove, and motd.
- fair amount of bank withdraw rights

Arbiter
- Seasoned guild tank or other plate wearer
- can promote & demote
- can see bank, deposit, higher repair withdrawal

Archon
- Seasoned guild member & contributer
- equal to Arbiter
- can see bank, deposit, lower repair withdrawal

Templar
- mid rank
- guild chat, set public & officer notes
- can see bank & deposit only

Corsair
- low-mid rank
- just guild chat & public note
- can see bank & deposit only

Zealot
- 2nd lowest rank - for that "new" guy who we aren't of sure yet :P
- just guild chat & public note
- can't see bank

Probe
- lowest rank - for players who have been inactive for months.
- just guild chat
- can't see bank


Guild Bank Status:
It is getting quite full and space is quickly becoming an issue. Next bank slot (#4) is a 1000 gold buy. We either need to A) not put anything of little value in the bank B) deposit some $ to pay for a 4th slot or C) actually use the bank and take out items which you think may be of use to you or D) just disenchant everything... j/k :P

Kara 1st part - Jan 15 2008

Alright we had a few hiccups with combatlog so not all the encounters from tonight's Kara are on the charts, basically we forgot to turn combatlog back on after we got booted from the server when we were fighting the trash just before Moroes. Of course we didn't turn combatlog back on till right before Opera Event so we don't have the Moroes and Maiden encounters recorded... stupid Blizzard- combatlog-thing. What we do have is the Attunmen The Huntsmen, Opera Event, Curator, and the Nightbane attempt.

It's fun to dissect the numbers but it's above all just informational.

PS. It looks like when you log out of WoW, if you had combatlog turned on, WoW just turns it off on the next login but does not delete or restart the combatlog.

PSS. I'm not 100% sure why WWS register our Opera Event as a try instead of a kill since I can confirm from the logs that it does record the bosses dying??? just not sure.

January 08 - Kara Run

We had a great run last time, and got up all the way to the Prince! Not bad for running it the first time as a guild. With that in mind, as I mentioned in another post, I hope to do Karazhan more consistently - usually around the 2nd week of the month. But January is kind of a funny month w/ New Years and people leaving for trips or what not for the holidays. So, I need your input on what will work.

Kara part deux

Gratz to everyone who ran Kara on Tuesday night (Dec. 11th). We had a very successful run, cleared all the way up to and including Curator with only one wipe, I think, and the typical hiccups so we know we can do half of Kara on a regular basis, me think.

We will be trying to hit up the rest of Kara on Saturday so please sign up to let us know if you can make it. The plan would be to hit up at a minimum Illhoof, Shade, Chess Event, and Prince. If we have time, we can visit Netherspite and I will try to get my book before Saturday so we can summon Nightbane for those who have never seen this fight. (Kinzlayer has just been very lazy about finishing the quest in order to summon Nightbane.)

Karazhan - Dec 11 & 15

This is for the sign ups for the Kara run on Dec 11 (Tues) and Dec 15 (Sat). First half of the run will be on Tues. Having taken down Attunemen & Midnight, Moroes** and Maiden last time, we should be able to do the 1st half without any problems this next time. We should start meeting around 7-7:30, start no later than 8.

Kara Run Schedule

We're giving Kara another try, and I'm hoping to do it more consistently. I hope that we can run it every 2nd week of the month. Tuesday, being a popular night for people to jump on would be the 1st half of Karazhan, then Sat we'll go for the 2nd half.

So with that, the next Kara run is on Dec 11 (Tues) then follow up is on Dec 15 (Sat). Sign-Ups will be on a different post.

Guild Bank

The guild bank is now live... however Blizzard did not make it cheap. There could be a total of 6 tabs (correct me if I'm wrong) for the bank with about 90+ slots each. 1st slot cost 100g, 2nd slot would be 250g, 3rd is some higher value of course, and etc...

With that being put into place, access to the bank is kind of funky. Although it tracks who takes out and who deposits, currently what is in place generally is all deposits (gold and items) are unlimited to most (I'd have to see what Kyron has set) guild members, withdrawals are available mainly to donors (gold) which could in turn help expand the guild bank.

Again I'd have to talk to Kyron and see what else he has put in place, but a re-org of guild rankings were made with his help and they are as follow:

High Templar ->
Sentinel -> Arbiter
Guardian -> Archon/Templar
Knight -> Corsair
Initiate -> Observer/Scout

New
High Templar - Guild Leader; unlimited
Arbiter - Senior Officers; a lot more bank access (multiple donor... hopefully)
Archon - Seasoned Veteran; more bank access (donor)
Templar - Seasoned Veteran; limited bank access
Corsair - Regular; limited bank access

Maiden PWND!!!

Kinzlayer:
Congratz to everyone on a fantastic weekend; not only did we power our way through Attunemen and his wussy horse, we conquered Moroes again and pop Maiden's cherry.

It's safe to say that for Attunemen having 3 tanks made it pretty easy, as well as having two priests and their shackles. Having 3 healers at the moment for Moroes is the requirement for us. Maiden of course is just tricky so let's hopefully keep this up and next thing for us to conquer is the Opera Event, imo the best part of Kara. Also keep up the good run we have as to gear some more of our ppl out with PURPLEZ!!!

I believe Beta might have a plan for another Kara on the 17th so stay tune to the Guild's MOTD and this blog but I'm sure everyone knows by now that Thomas (Rotgutt) is getting hitched soon so Rotgutt, Caharin, and Kinzlayer will be out on the 17th as that will be when we get Thomas silly drunk and savor his last moment of freedom before he becomes a responsible adult with a wife to aggro.

Once again great Kara and congratz to all who participate and got some nice PURPLEZ out of it.
